Why metasearch sites like Skyscanner are developing rapidly?The reason is that they provide the convenience and user experience that consumers want。

But Lufthansa went in the opposite direction,They made a "stupid" decision (to charge an extra fee for every booking made through GDS),If consumers book through other channels,will be punished。
Marriott Hotels also plans to provide free WiFi only to guests who book the hotel through direct sales channels。
When I stay at a Marriott hotel,I can only use the personal hotspot on my mobile phone to access the Internet。
However, this move by Marriott Hotel was not successful,It can even be said to be a failure。Because I will compare the Marriott experience to other hotels with free WiFi,For example, Hilton Hotel、Holiday Inn, etc.,Marriott’s “little cleverness” will only cause me more trouble。

Travel suppliers must stay awake in the face of two fundamental shifts in distribution:

• Travel suppliers must understand,Consumers have different needs and preferences,Not just the choice of cabin and room type,Also includes their preferred travel search and booking tools and processes,At this stage the customer experience will most likely need to be shared with a third party。Tourism suppliers must strengthen cooperation,Work together to create a good experience for consumers。
